Teach players to keep their body moving toward the intended target during the recovery of a bobbled baseball.
Have the players line-up in a single file facing the coach who is approximately 10 to 15 feet away from the line.
The coach rolls the ball on the ground towards the players.
The player is instructed to purposely fumbled the ball but maintain momentum towards the throwing target.
Once the player recovers the baseball continue on to make the throw to the first baseman.
The players should start with a glove on, once comfortable with that then the glove can be taken off just using the bare hand pick-up.
This is a drill designed for creativity and enjoyment, so encourage the players to flip the ball through their legs, over the shoulder etc.
