Objective

  • To be able to relax when misplaying a groundball.
  • Become familiar picking up the ball with your bare hand.

Equipment

  • Baseballs (2-3)
  • Gloves

Description

  • The coach stands behind the infielder and bounces the baseball anywhere out in front.
  • The player scrambles to find the ball and throws to the intended target.

Tips

  • The infielder must pick the ball up with their throwing hand. Have the infielders in the ready position.
  • To make the drill more realistic, softly bounce the ball off the infielder's chest to mimic a misplayed ground ball.
